FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I'm a new shooter, where should I begin?

We strongly encourage all new shooters begin with one of our basic courses or a private lesson.

What if I do not own a firearm?

No problem! We have rentals available in a variety of calibers. Handguns are $5.00 per rental, and rifles are $10.00 per rental. Please note for liability reasons that you will need to purchase ammunition from us if you are renting one of our firearms (ammunition prices vary). You must inform us 48 hours prior to the class if you will be needing to purchase a rental and/or ammunition.

Which License to Carry course should I sign up for?

That depends on how you would like to go about obtaining your license.

License to Carry: All-in-one course taken in person in a single 4-6 hour day. This course satisfies both the classroom & proficiency demonstration requirements to obtain your license. Upon completion, you will be given your completed LTC-104 form to submit to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

License to Carry (Online & Range): Upon registering for this course, you will receive an email with an access link to begin the classroom portion of the License to Carry course that you may take at your own pace at any hour. The online classroom portion must be completed by the date you registered for as that date reflects your proficiency demonstration.

License to Carry (Online)Upon registering for this course, you will receive an email with an access link to begin the classroom portion of the License to Carry course that you may take at your own pace at any hour. This course is available 24/7 as it does not include the proficiency demonstration (which is still required).

License to Carry (Range): For those who have already completed the online course and only need to complete the proficiency demonstration.

What if I fail my Texas License to Carry proficiency demonstration?

The Texas Department of Public Safety allows each student 3 attempts at the proficiency demonstration. Should you fail your first time around, we do require you to book a 1 hour private lesson that will be utilized to go over proper form and fundamentals prior to re-qualifying at the end of the lesson. This is in order to ensure we avoid having multiple failures reported to the state.

Do you offer any courses that cover firearm maintenance?

While many firearms operate similarly to one another, not all firearms operate entirely the same. Due to this, we do not explicitly offer cleaning or maintenance courses. However, we can provide this service as a private lesson.

Can I hire your Range Safety Officers for an event?

Absolutely! For inquiries of this caliber, please contact us with details on your event and we will coordinate with you from there.

Why are some listed courses gray?

If a listed course is gray and does not link to a new page, that means that course is not currently being offered. We encourage you to check back at a later date as we always strive to have all of our courses available to those who are interested.
