I'm a new shooter, where should I begin?
We recommend all new shooters begin with one of our beginner courses or a private lesson to build a safe, confident foundation from the start.
What if I do not own a firearm?
Most of the ranges we train at offer firearm rentals. If you do not currently own a firearm, please let us know before your class. If the range does not offer rentals, we can usually arrange for a loaner firearm for you to use during training.
Which License to Carry course should I sign up for?
That depends on how you would like to go about obtaining your license.
License to Carry: This is an in person course completed in a single 4-6 hour day. It satisfies both the classroom and proficiency demonstration requirements needed to obtain your license. Upon completion, you will receive your completed LTC-104 form to submit to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
License to Carry (Online & Range): This option includes the online classroom course and the in-person proficiency demonstration. After registering, you will receive an email with an access link to complete the classroom portion at your own pace. The online portion must be completed before your scheduled range date, which is when you will complete the proficiency demonstration.
License to Carry (Online): This option includes only the classroom portion of the License to Carry course. After registering, you will receive an email with an access link to complete the course at your own pace. This course is available 24/7 and does not include the proficiency demonstration.
License to Carry (Range): This option is for students who have already completed the online classroom course and only need to complete the proficiency demonstration.
What if I fail my Texas License to Carry proficiency demonstration?
The Texas Department of Public Safety allows each student up to three attempts to pass the proficiency demonstration. If you do not pass on your first attempt, we require you to book a 1-hour private lesson before re-qualifying. During this lesson, we will review safety, proper form, and shooting fundamentals to help you correct any issues before your next attempt. This gives you the best opportunity to pass and helps prevent unnecessary failed attempts from being submitted to the state.
Can I request a certain course on a weekday?
If you are interested in a course but do not see it available on a day that works for you, contact us and let us know which course you would like to take and what days work best for your schedule. We will do our best to coordinate with you and offer the course at the normal class price whenever possible.
Can I take one of the courses as a private lesson?
Many of our courses can be scheduled as a private lesson or private group class. Pricing varies depending on the course and number of students. Contact us with the course you are interested in and we will be happy to help get it set up.
Will you teach a course at my home or business?
Many of our courses can be taught at your home, business, or other approved facility. Contact us with details about your location, group size, and the course you are interested in, and we will be happy to help coordinate the training.
Do you offer any courses that cover firearm maintenance?
While many firearms operate similarly to one another, not all firearms operate the same. Due to this, we do not currently offer a dedicated firearm maintenance course. However, our Beginner Handgun and Beginner Rifle courses cover the general concepts of firearm care and maintenance. If you would like help learning how to clean or maintain your specific firearm, we can provide that instruction through a private lesson.
Can I hire your range safety officers for an event?
Our range safety officers may be available for private events, range days, qualifications, or other firearms related activities. Contact us with the date, location, expected number of participants, and event details, and we will coordinate with you from there.
